As of this morning, I booked my flight to Uganda!  From March 30th to May 26th I will be at Amani!

EST. BIRTHDAY 17 JULY 2007          

BENJAMIN WAS ABANDONED AT AN OFFICE CALLED BUKISA HE WAS TAKEN TO THE POLICE.  HE WAS PLACED IN THE CARE OF AMANI ON 19 FEB 2008.  BENJAMIN WAS ESTIMATED TO BE SIX MONTHS OLD WHEN HE BECAME PART OF THE AMANI FAMILY.

The song "Albertine" by singer/song writer Brooke Fraser

Right before I went to Uganda in 2008, I went to a Brooke Fraser concert, and she told us her story of being able to go to Rwanda where she met a young girl named Albertine.  The girl was a victim of the Rwandan genocide.  The local pastor explained to Brooke what had happened to Albertine's family and told her that when she would go back home, she had to write a song about this little girl and what she had seen.  This song has always been on my mind and in my heart...

Travel Dates

As of now I am looking at going to Uganda around the end of March of next year and staying there until the end of May.  All I have to do is finalize dates, and then I will send in my flight itinerary to Amani, and they will hold my spot in their guest house!  It is almost official!  I can't wait!
